Macon-Atlanta State Bank has partnered with ID Protect to help to better protect our customers and their families* from becoming a victim of identity theft.  As part of our SmartPoint Checking and SecurePoint Checking Accounts, customers receive identity theft monitoring and protection.  **  This service offers both identity theft monitoring and recovery as part of the protection.

Time is of the essence in discovering identity theft, since the quicker it is discovered, the easier it is to recover from it. Identity monitoring is a critical component in discovering identity theft quickly in order to limit the amount of damage that can be done.
 
Keep an eye out for any suspicious activity by routinely monitoring:
  • Your financial statements. Monitor your financial accounts and billing statements regularly, looking closely for changes you did not make.
  • Your credit reports. Credit reports contain information about you, including what accounts you have and how you pay your bills. If an identity thief is opening credit accounts in your name, these accounts are likely to show up on your credit report.

ID Protect Recovery Service

Becoming a victim of identity fraud is a frightening, frustrating experience and it can happen to anyone at any time.  IDProtect is here to help during this difficult time. Should you become a victim, a dedicated fraud specialist will be assigned to manage your case. Experienced recovery professionals will handle the recovery process until your identity is completely restored.
 
IDProtect also provides identity fraud expense reimbursement to cover expenses associated with restoring your identity, such as reimbursement for costs associated with attorney fees, loan application fees, long distance calls, certified mail and notarized fraud documents, medical record costs, as well as coverage for wages lost for time taken off work to correct personal records.

  • IDProtect is a personal identity theft protection service available to personal checking account owner(s), their joint account owners and their eligible family members. Service is not available to a "signer" on the account who is not an account owner. Family includes: Spouse, person qualifying as domestic partner, and children under 25 years of age and parent(s) who are residents of the same household.
  • Credit file monitoring from Experian and TransUnion will take several days to begin following activation.  Customers and account holders MUST register themselves for credit file monitoring.  The bank can not do this on behalf of the customer/account holder.
